About Me

Brandie Sellers, She/Her
MS, LPC, NCC
AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist.
Counselor.  Speaker.  Teacher.

I practice counseling via telehealth in Colorado, Texas and Vermont. I graduated with my MS in Counseling from SMU with an emphasis on sex therapy and art therapy. In addition to counseling, I’ve been teaching yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda since 2005, and I am a Certified Yoga Teacher at the 500-hour level. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, I’ve written for cancerwise.org and speak to cancer survivors, counselors, and other professionals about cancer survivorship. I am absolutely passionate about my three children, traveling, and living an artful life filled with big adventures.

In addition to providing counseling services, I also enjoy consulting with counselors nationwide about working with cancer patients and supervising LPC Associates in Colorado.  If you’d like to inquire about either of those services, please go to the contact page and let’s set up a consultation!

My Background & Approach

  • I believe therapy is a collaborative relationship, in which I provide support to my clients as they work to uncover their own life wisdom. The approach I take with each client is unique to that client’s needs. In addition to talk therapy, I incorporate education, mindfulness, movement, breathing exercises, art therapy, and EMDR in my sessions where appropriate. I also practice ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
  • I am a cancer survivor, so I have both personal and professional training in the issues a cancer diagnosis can have on family, sexuality, body image, and the trauma that diagnosis/treatment can cause.
  • I am a certified sex therapist with AASECT. I am a sex positive, affirming clinician with advanced training in sexual behaviors and issues.
  • I have worked with many clients who are deconstructing from fundamental religions, and am aware of the issues which can arise in that process, including: belonging, sexuality, and image of self.

Why I Became a Therapist

I believe we did not come here to suffer and die. Some of us have a tremendous amount of hard times in life, and that can leave us feeling like suffering is all there is. But that’s not true. Together, we can uncover some joy for you. I believe pleasure is a basic human right, and pleasure does not just mean sex. But it certainly can. I am passionate about access to sexual health education, being sex positive and LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I love working with clients to explore their sexual selves. (I do not touch or engage in sex with clients) I believe in your innate wisdom. If you think you cannot access it, or that it’s non-existent, I am up to the challenge of helping you find and cultivate it. I believe that shame keeps us from giving up things that aren’t working for us, and that building self compassion through self understanding is the antidote. I believe in health at every size. Every body deserves love, respect, peace with food, and joyful movement.
